Yarn of the Month (YotM)

Interested in winning a gift certificate to the Black Squirrel? Each month we will feature a yarn and a Make Along (MAL) using that yarn. The YotM will be 15% off in both the online store and in the brick and mortar store, no code required. All projects in the MAL need to use at least one skein of the YotM purchased from the our shop and you need to follow us on Instagram, @blacksquirrelberkeley or be subscribed to our email newsletter. You may use YotM previously purchased from us. A few days after the end of the MAL, the drawing winner will be announced on Instagram and by email or text if the winner is participating that way.

Participating in the MAL will put you in a drawing for a $50 gift certificate which can be used online or in-person.

How it works:
The MAL will mostly be run on Instagram though you can participate via email or text (see below). The YotM will be announced at the beginning of each month and will last for 2 months to give time for people to order yarn and make their project. You can join the MAL any time during those two months and make any project you choose. For example the YotM will go on sale on October 1st and remain on sale through November 30th; the winner will be announced the first week of December.

Anyone, anywhere can participate in the MAL. If you wish to redeem the gift certificate, you must live somewhere we ship to (we do ship internationally to many countries!) This drawing is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram.

To participate on Instagram, one entry each:

Share the YotM announcement post on Instagram
Share a post with your work in progress picture(s)
Share a post with your finished project picture(s)
Limit of 5 total entries per person

Be sure to tag us (@blacksquirrelberkeley) and use the hashtag #BSBYotM to ensure we see your post to include you into the drawing. We love stories and we'd love for you to share to stories. However, due to the very temporary nature of stories, they may not be seen by us and therefore we will not be counting story shares. If you have a private account, tell us so we can follow you or send us a screenshot of your post.

We would love to know the colorway you are using of the YotM, any other yarn you are using in the project, the pattern you are using, and any other details you wish to share. By participating you are giving us permission to use your picture on Instagram or on our website.
